Simone Zaza says he is flattered by reported interest from Napoli but insists his only focus right now is on producing his best form for West Ham United.

Zaza joined West Ham on a season-long loan in the summer from Juventus with the English club agreeing to make the deal permanent if the striker makes 14 competitive appearances.

The Italy international has featured seven times in the Premier League whilst also appearing twice in the EFL Cup, meaning just five more outings are needed before he joins the London Stadium outfit on a full-time basis.

His temporary switch has not gone entirely to plan and the 25-year-old is yet to open his account for the Hammers, leading to doubts over whether the club want to sign him permanently.

Several reports have emerged over recent weeks claiming the Policoro-born star’s loan deal will be ended early and he will then move to Napoli for the remainder of the campaign.

However, Zaza has denied these rumours and insists the only aim right now is to get back amongst the goals to ensure West Ham start climbing up the Premier League table.

“Napoli are a great team and I have already been fortunate enough to play for Juventus, so I am proud of that, but I am focused on breaking my duck and playing well,” he told Rai Sport.

“West Ham are my current club and it would be a personal failure if I was to leave now.”

The Hammers, who are 17th in the league and just one point above the bottom three, face a tricky away trip to title-contenders Tottenham Hotspur on November 19.

Slaven Bilic’s men are the big 6.00 outsiders to pick up all three points, a draw is priced at 4.20 whilst Spurs, who are undefeated in the league, are the firm 1.50 favourites.
