Napoli summer signing Kostas Manolas believes they can challenge for the Serie A title in the 2019-20 campaign.

The Partenopei finished second in the standings last year, 11 points behind champions Juventus. Manolas made the switch from Roma at the end of last month and the Greece international has his sights set on a Scudetto challenge with Napoli.

“They made me feel secure about my decision [to join Napoli] and it was clear straight away that they really wanted me in this team,” he said.

“I never had doubts, that’s why I chose Napoli and I am sure I made the right decision. “I liked watching the way Napoli played and was eager to become a part of it. I’d give anything to win the Scudetto here.

“[Manager] Carlo Ancelotti is unique for what he’s won throughout his career. I promise that I’ll do everything I can to help the team achieve their targets and aim as high as possible.”

Napoli are 6.00 to win Serie A outright next season behind favourites Juventus at 1.44 and 6.00 hopefuls Inter Milan.

Manolas is one of four new arrivals at Napoli so far this summer, with right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo joining from Empoli, goalkeeper David Ospina making the move from Arsenal and midfielder Filippo Costa arriving from SPAL.
