Romelu Lukaku is desperate to help Inter Milan challenge for the Scudetto after completing a £74milliom move from Manchester United.

The Nerazzurri had been chasing the Belgium international throughout the summer and finally managed to get a deal over the line on Thursday.

Lukaku was linked with Juventus earlier in the summer although the former Chelsea and Everton forward insists Inter was always his first choice. Juve have dominated Serie A in recent years and Inter haven’t won the Scudetto since 2010, but Lukaku is confident they can challenge for silverware in the season ahead.

“Inter were the only club I wanted because Inter is Not For Everyone. I’m here to bring the Nerazzurri back to the top,” he said in a statement released by the club.

Juve are the favourites to win the Serie A title in the 2019/20 campaign at 1.40, while Inter and Napoli are both rated at 6.00. New Inter boss Antonio Conte has been busy during the summer transfer window.

He has snapped up the likes of Diego Godin and Valentino Lazaro, but Lukaku’s arrival is the most high-profile deal the club have completed so far. Conte can still strengthen his squad further, as the Serie A transfer window doesn’t close until August 23, and the club continue to be linked with Roma striker Edin Dzeko.

Inter begin the new season with a home game against Lecce on Monday, August 26 and they are 1.22 to claim the win. Inter are 1.70 to be winning at half-time and full-time, while the Milan club can be backed at 6.50 to win 3-0.
