Thibaut Courtois says his former Atletico Madrid team-mate Radamel Falcao would be a great addition to the Chelsea squad.

The Columbian has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after Manchester United opted not to make his loan at Old Trafford permanent this summer.

Falcao did not enjoy the best of times in Manchester, managing to score just four league goals for Louis van Gaal’s team during a season long loan from Ligue 1 Chelsea.”

Falcao was a consistent goalscorer at Porto and Atletico Madrid before moving to Monaco where he scored 11 goals in 20 appearances for the French side.

Mourinho insists the real Falcao is not the player that was seen at Manchester United last season.

“It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United,” the Chelsea boss said.

“He played in Spain and Portugal and I know him very well because I was in Portugal and Spain. In Spain we were together when he was at Atletico and I was at Real and I know him very, very well … he is a great player.”

Chelsea are 2.38 to retain the Premier League title next season, with Manchester United available at 5.50.
