Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino insists his side cannot think about the Premier League title despite returning to winning ways against Stoke City.

Spurs have drifted out to 126.00 to win the league title after a recent run of poor results.

After going four league games without a win, Pochettino ruled his team out of the title race but they caught the eye on Saturday against Stoke.

Striker Harry Kane grabbed a brace at Wembley as they ran out 5-1 winners, while Heung-Min Son produced a man-of-the-match display to help his team get over the line.

Spurs are now up to fifth and they are 15 points behind Manchester City heading into another round of midweek fixtures.

Although they looked back to their best, Pochettino insists his side need to just take each game as it comes rather than dreaming of silverware.

He told Sky Sports: “It is step by step. We must go game by game. It is so important to get ready again for Brighton on Wednesday and we will see what will happen then.

“We are not going to be focused on if we need to finish top or win the Premier League. We need to put our [focus] on the next game always.

“I am so pleased for the team performance. I am happy because the most important thing today was the victory and the three points after a few games where we didn’t get the result that we deserved.

“But today the team played well and it was a great victory that was important for the next few games.”
