Hugo Lloris believes Spurs are improving with each passing season under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Lloris says Tottenham are in the middle of a project he is keen to see through but he concedes he could have departed the north London club a few years ago.

The French keeper contemplated leaving Spurs in 2014 when Pochettino joined the club but was convinced by the Argentine boss to stay, and he has no regrets over the decision.

“Does it justify my decision? Yes, from the first moment I believed in Pochettino, and that’s it,” the France captain, 30, said.

“I don’t need that [result] to say ‘yes, I was right at the time’. It was just my feeling when I met him.

“Now, I just enjoy the football we play. Sometimes in football, you live great moments, and you live some sad moments.

“But there is a great potential in the squad, a great project in our club, and I am looking forward to seeing this development. I try my best to help the team and the club to develop too.”

Spurs host Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday and they are 2.20 to claim all three points, the Reds can be backed at 3.30 and a draw is 3.50. Spurs are 15.00 to win the Premier League outright and 26.00 to win the Champions League.
