Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed forward Alexis Sanchez will be given the chance to impress in Friday’s FA Cup clash with old club Arsenal.
The Red Devils will take on the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium in the fourth round of the competition and head to the capital in blistering form after seven straight wins since Solskjaer took charge.
The Norweigan has brought the best out of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba in his brief time at the helm, leaving Romelu Lukaku and Sanchez waiting in the wings.
Sanchez, who left Arsenal in January 2018 to move to Old Trafford, looks likely to get his chance to impress on Friday though and Solskjaer is confident the Chile international will deliver.
“I think he’ll love it if the crowd turn against him,” he told MUTV.
“As a player, pride kicks in and you think ‘I’ll show all of you’. He has been fantastic in training, his attitude has been spot on so hopefully he’ll enjoy the game.”
Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini will miss Friday’s game through injury, but Chris Smalling has returned to training.
Left-back Luke Shaw has recovered from illness and he will be hoping to feature Unai Emery’s side are the 2.50 favourites with Dafabet to advance to the fifth round, while the draw is 3.50 and United are priced at 2.75.
Lukaku is priced at 6.50 to score first, while Sanchez is available at odds of 3.25 to score anytime.
