Robbie Brady’s protracted transfer from Hull City to Norwich City finally looks set to go through after Tigers boss Steve Bruce confirmed a fee had been agreed for the player.

The Canaries have been chasing the 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international for much of the summer and boss Alex Neil now seems to be on the verge of landing one of his main targets.

Brady was left out of Hull’s pre-season trip to Austria over the weekend after the player made it clear he wanted to stay in the Premier League.

“The two clubs have agreed a fee for Robbie,” said Bruce after Hull’s 0-0 friendly against Hannover.

“We’ve given Robbie permission to go and speak to Norwich. I envisage that deal to go through.

“It’s sad to see him go but most people will understand that when you get relegated these things happen.”

Norwich brought their tour of Austria and Germany to an end with a 2-1 friendly win over FC Augsburg at the weekend after which Neil said he was still looking to bring up to four more players to Carrow Road.

He has already signed Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu and the latter impressed against Augsburg, scoring against the German outfit.

Neil said of the former West Brom player: “He is a fantastic competitor. He is one of those players I think when you watch him as a fan you will like him because he gives his all.”

Norwich are 2.40 to win their opening match of the season against Crystal Palace on August 8. An Eagles victory is available at 3.00 and the draw is at 3.20.
