Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo banned for two matches following Real Madrid’s 2-1 extra-time loss to Atletico Madrid

The Portuguese manager was sent to the stands after excessive complaints in their match at the Bernabeu, while the star forward was booked and eventually sent off after attempting to kick Atletico Madrid captain Gabi late in the game.

And though Mourinho is reported to be moving away from the Los Blancos to a possible return to Chelsea, the suspension could still follow in England, if the FA deem it necessary.

And with Ronaldo’s future still uncertain, his suspension means he will miss his first two league ties in the next La Liga campaign.

Earlier in the week, Mourinho’s imminent departure was confirmed by the club after finishing the year without a trophy.
