Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva believes newly-appointed boss Jurgen Klopp has already had a big impact since the German arrived on Merseyside.
Following the departure of Brendan Rodgers from Anfield, Liverpool were quick to offer former Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp a three-year deal.
Since the international players returned from duty with their respective nations, the club’s big stars have had an opportunity to meet the new manager.
Brazil international Lucas has been impressed with what he has seen from Klopp so far and feels the future for the club is bright under the German tactician.
He told Liverpool TV: “It has been very positive. He seems to be very passionate – he likes to put in everything that he has and he asks the players for the same.
“Be very intense, be aggressive with yourself, is what he has been saying.
“Always try to be better, always give 10 metres more, because that will be the key to success.
“He seems to be a very open manager and someone that likes to be close to the players, but very straight as well. That’s what I’ve learned from the last couple of days and I think it was a positive way to start.”
Klopp’s first game in the Premier League comes on Saturday when Liverpool, travel to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are currently at 2.50 to win, 3.40 to draw and 2.88 to lose to the Reds at White Hart Lane.
