Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is targeting a more consistent second half of the season as his side aims to challenge for glory on all fronts.

The Reds have only won one of their last five matches in all competitions, with Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat to Manchester United leaving them in ninth place in the Premier league standings, a full eight points off a top-four position.

The Merseyside club’s only success in their recent poor run was their 1-0 victory over Stoke in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final showdown on January 5, a result that leaves Jurgen Klopp’s side on the cusp of reaching the final of the competition.

The Anfield outfit are also still involved in both the FA Cup and Europa League this season and Henderson believes his side should aim for glory in all three competitions.

Henderson said: “We want to win every trophy we can whether it is the FA Cup, Capital One Cup or Europa League. Whatever it is we need to make sure we give our all.”

The England international admits recent results have not been good enough, but is convinced there is enough quality within the squad to improve on their current struggles in the Premier League.

He added: “As players we just have to give everything for now and try to win as many games, put in as many performances as possible. I really believe we have a good squad of players but we need to be winning.”

Liverpool are next in action when they play host to League Two side Exeter in an FA Cup third round replay on Wednesday. The Reds are the 1.29 favourites to win the match, whilst the visitors are available at 12.00 and the draw is priced at 5.25.
