Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has told Leandro Paredes he needs to maintain his performances for a full 90 minutes after a mixed display on Tuesday night.

PSG claimed a 3-0 Coupe de France win over Dijon at the Parc des Princes thanks to a first-half double from Angel Di Maria, with Thomas Meuneir adding a third on 76 minutes.

Paredes, who moved to Paris from Russia’s Zenit St Petersburg in the January window, impressed in the first half but was largely anonymous after the restart and Tuchel has now issued a challenge to the Argentina international.

“He played the first half very well, like the whole team,” Tuchel told reporters after the win over Dijon. “In the second half, his position was a little too deep.

“He’s a guy who can make very precise passes, very quickly, it’s his job to set the pace and speed up the game.”

The French champions take on Caen in Ligue 1 on Saturday and then face Manchester United in Paris in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

PSG, who are 6.50 to win the Champions League outright, hold a 2-0 advantage after seeing off the Premier League outfit at Old Trafford and are 1.50 to win the second leg next Wednesday and 7.00 to claim another 2-0 success.

A draw is 4.33, while United are 7.00 to win and 13.00 to qualify for the next round.
