The Neymar transfer saga has taken another twist with the latest reports suggesting Paris Saint-Germain have rejected a cash plus three player bid from Barcelona.

The Brazil international has made it clear that he wants to end his time at the Parc des Princes and has been angling for a move back to the Nou Camp all summer. Despite being prolific on the pitch, the 27-year-old has never really settled at the Paris club and admits he made a mistake in leaving the Catalans two years ago.

Real Madrid have also shown an interest, with reports they offered players such a Gareth Bale in their proposed deal. However, PSG are refusing to play ball over their prized asset and Mundo Deportivo are suggesting Barca were willing to offer £118m for Neymar, plus Ivan Rakitic and Jean-Clair Todibo – plus Ousmane Dembele on loan.

The Ligue 1 champions are said to have turned that down as well and it is becoming more likely by the day that the South American remains with the French champions as they refuse to accept anything below what they feel he is worth.

The clubs have until September 2 to thrash out a deal and it seems as though PSG are sticking to their guns as they want the majority of the cash up front as opposed to in future add-ons. Representatives from the two clubs met for a transfer summit in Paris this week but it seems as though there is more talking to be done.

PSG are currently 1.10 to win the French title and those odds are unlikely to change that much even if Neymar does depart.
