Rumours that Barcelona are trying to bring Neymar back to the club from Paris Saint Germain continue to do the rounds and it seems as though all is not well at the club.

The Brazil international enjoyed four successful seasons with the Catalans before shocking the football world when making a big-money move to the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2017.

Although his goal tally is excellent in the French capital, there has been constant speculation over his future ever since a public spat with team-mate Edinson Cavani early in his PSG career.

Injuries have not helped as the South American has spent too much time on the sidelines and there is a sense that the dream of turning the Parisians into world beaters has turned into a nightmare.

Although PSG paid his £200m release clause two years ago, the transfer was not without controversy due to the payment of a bonus and the La Liga giants were unhappy with aspects of the deal.

It is now said that the board are split over whether to bring the forward back to Camp Nou as some favour the recruitment of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

Many would like to see the Frenchman arrive but others are still sore that he publicly rejected them last summer to stay with Los Rojiblancos. Both signings would not be universally popular although Lionel Messi’s endorsement of Neymar returning might certainly swing things in his favour as the duo worked well together in the past.

Barcelona are favourites at 1.67 to retain their Spanish top-flight crown, with fierce rivals Real Madrid on offer at 2.38.
