Real Madrid have confirmed Isco has agreed a new five-year contract that will see him remain with the reigning European champions until the summer of 2022.
The Spain international originally moved to the Bernabeu from Malaga in 2013, but it wasn’t until last season that he fully cemented his place in the first team, scoring 10 goals in 30 La Liga appearances, while he also started the Champions League final against Juventus.
Isco, whose original deal was due to expire at the end of the season, has now been rewarded with a new long-term contract, with the club confirming he will officially sign the extension at a press conference on Friday.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Isco have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which will see him remain at the club until the 30th June 2022,” a Real statement read.
“Tomorrow, Friday, at 2pm, Isco will appear before the media in the press room of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.”
Isco is the second Real player to agree a new long-term contract this week, following in the footsteps of full-back Marcelo, and he will be hoping to celebrate his new deal by featuring in the club’s La Liga clash with Real Sociedad at the Anoeta on Sunday.
Los Blancos are priced at 1.70 to win the match, while Sociedad, who have won all three of their league games to date this season, are available at 4.75 and the draw is on offer at 4.00.
