Real Madrid completing the signing of France international full-back Ferland Mendy from Lyon in a deal worth £47m on Wednesday and their summer spending already stands at nearly £300million.

Real have been tracking Mendy for some time and earlier this month France boss Didier Deschamps revealed the defender would be playing at the Bernabeu next season.

Los Blancos have now completed the signing and the 24-year-old has agreed a six-year deal in the Spanish capital.

Zinedine Zidane will have a new-look squad in Madrid next term as the Spanish giants have already signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea in a deal that could exceed £150m, with Luka Jovic making the move from German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt for a reported £53m.

Real also landed Porto centre-half Eder Militao for a fee in the region of £43m ahead of the 2019/20 season in March.

The new arrivals at the Bernabeu will see a number of players move on and Gareth Bale continues to be linked with an exit. The Wales international was considered a target for Manchester United but apparently their interest has now cooled although he should still have plenty of suitors.

Isco, Marcelo and Luka Modric have also been linked with exits, while a new keeper could also be on the agenda for Zidane this summer, with the futures of both Keylor Navas and Thibaut Courtois unclear.

Real are 2.20 to win La Liga outright in 2019/20. Barcelona are the 1.62 favourites and Atletico Madrid can be backed at 17.00.
