Antoine Griezmann hopes to help Barcelona secure trophies after opting to depart Atletico Madrid for Camp Nou.

The 28-year-old forward won one major title during his five years with Atleti as they claimed the Europa League crown in 2017-18, while he also landed the UEFA Super Cup and the Supercopa de Espana during his time with Los Colchoneros.

Griezmann, who won the World Cup with France last year, now has his sights set on the top prizes in Spain and Europe and hopes to help Barca add to their trophy cabinet in the years ahead.

“I want to be an important player at this great club and I will try to win La Liga, as well as the Copa del Rey and the Champions League – the trophies missing from my curriculum,” he told the Barcelona website.

“I’ve worked hard to be an important player in every position. I can play on the left, the right or in the middle but the only thing that matters is doing well in order to help the team. I offer passing play, assists, goals and joy in my game.

“It’s always difficult to leave somewhere in which you are comfortable. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Atletico Madrid and I gave my all for them, right to the end. However, now I want a new challenge, I want to better myself and step out of my comfort zone.”

Barcelona are 1.67 to win La Liga outright next season and 6.50 to claim the Champions League title.
