Kvicha Kvaratskhelia’s curler was enough to secure maximum points for Napoli as they completed a comeback win over Verona in the Italian Serie A on Sunday.
The visitors had taken the lead through Coppola, but Cyril Ngonge equalized against his former club to restore parity.
Kvaratskhelia, before his goal, had penalty appeals waved away, as he seemed to already be going down before Juan Cabal’s tackle. The winger then forced a couple of tough Lorenzo Montipò saves with a scorcher and a low volley.

Verona, through a dangerous counter-attack, almost scored, but Michael Folorunsho turned wide with a back-heel flick. Then Darko Lazovic curled off-target, too.
Mario Rui is suspended for the next game against Milan after being booked straight after the restart.

Diego Coppola couldn’t flick the Ondrej Duda free kick on target at the back post before Pierluigi Gollini was called into action with a fingertip save from a sudden Lazovic scorcher round the upright and Cabal wasted the header on the resulting corner.

Stanislav Lobotka released Juan Jesus down the left, rolling across for Simeone to force a desperate reaction save from four yards.
Folorunsho’s acrobatic overhead kick went off target, and Kvaratskhelia flashed an angled drive across the face of the goal.
After Ondrej Duda’s free-kick grazed the head of Pawel Dawidowicz, Verona took the lead. A Tomas Suslov set play found Coppola from six yards, who headed it onto his shoulder, and that gave it a strange loop into the far top corner.

Montipò got into action again with a fantastic double save on Pasquale Mazzocchi’s strike and the Jesper Lindstrom follow-up.
However, the goalie couldn’t stop his former teammate from beating him with a deflected strike.
Mazzocchi released Lindstrom down the left. He released a dummy that sent a defender to the ground, and he rolled across for Ngonge, who scored against the club he only left last month.
In search of the winner, Anguissa fired inches wide from a distance, and then Simeone twice failed to beat Montipò one-on-one when sent clear by Kvaratskhelia.
Napoli eventually completed the turnaround when the Georgian controlled from Mazzocchi and immediately curled a remote-controlled right-foot finish into the far top corner from outside the D.
