Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen insists he already feels at home at the club following his move from Liverpool earlier this summer.

Stoke decided to bolster their squad earlier this year and they were forced to pay £13million to secure Allen’s services.

He has started the club’s first three Premier League games and his form has improved since the European Championships in France.

Allen helped Wales record a 4-0 win over Moldova on Monday night in the World Cup qualifiers and the 26-year-old insists he is enjoying life with the Potters.

The former Swansea City star is now determined to kick on under boss Mark Hughes and he believes new signing Wilfried Bony can help kick the club on to the next level.

“I think it had come to the point where I knew I needed to move on.

Personally, it was pretty obvious,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports. “It’s pretty obvious that my type of play would not have suited Stoke years ago.

“But the likes of Shaqiri, Arnautovic, Bojan, (Ibrahim) Afellay and (Giannelli) Imbula – players they have brought in – as well as others that were already there, (Glenn) Whelan, Jonathan (Walters) and (Peter) Crouch.

The list goes on. “Now everyone is talking about the impact Bony will have at Stoke, and the boys who played with him at Swansea talk very highly of him.

“So I’m looking forward to getting back up there now and playing alongside him.”
