England interim manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed midfielder Jack Wilshere is back in his England squad for the matches against Scotland and Spain.
The Arsenal midfielder, currently on loan at Bournemouth, is back in the squad for the first time since the European Championships in the summer.
His form for the Cherries has caught the eye of Southgate and the former Middlesbrough coach has also decided to recall Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
Kane had missed the last 10 matches for Spurs after picking up an injury but he made a goalscoring return on Sunday in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater are also included but Manchester United duo Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling are out with injuries.
Spurs midfielder Dele Alli picked up an injury last week in training and Alex Oxlaide-Chamerlain and Michail Antonio also miss out, but Burnley’s Michael Keane retains his place.
England will play Scotland on Friday November 11, before taking on Spain on Tuesday November 15 and Southgate admits he is pleased to welcome back so many first-team players.
He told FA TV: “We’ve had some players who weren’t available to us last time who are in good form and back in the frame like Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Raheem Sterling.
It’s good to have them back. “Harry Kane similarly. We’ve had some good discussions with a lot of the clubs in the last few weeks but Tottenham have been very helpful in terms of Harry’s availability and keeping us informed of where he’s at, so we are grateful to Mauricio [Pochettino] for that.
“Jack is a player we feel has a lot of class and has now started to get more 90 minutes under his belt, and we think it’s a good moment to bring him back into the squad.”
England are 1.36 favourites to win on Friday, the draw is priced at 4.50, while the Scots are available at odds of 9.50 with Dafabet.
