Harry Kane says he is happy at White Hart Lane and that outsiders need to start looking at Tottenham as a big club.

Kane was responding to reports linking Manchester United with a summer swoop for his services and he admits he was flattered to learn of interest from Old Trafford.

The Tottenham forward was one of the surprise packages of last season, scoring 21 Premier League goals for Mauricio Pochettino’s team and forcing his way into Roy Hodgson’s England squad – where he also scored just two minutes into his debut.

England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is rumoured to be a big fan of Kane and would like to see him at Old Trafford.

Kane says the rumours linking him to the former champions are flattering.

“I have seen there is interest but that’s all I know. It is flattering for other clubs to maybe be interested,” the 21-year-old said.

Pressed on whether interest from Louis van Gaal would be hard to resist, Kane insisted Tottenham are a big club and that he has no need to seek a move at this point in his career.

“Tottenham are a big club and that’s how people have got to see it. I’m at a big club now and enjoying my football looking forward to next season at White Hart Lane,” he said.

Kane is set to be Pochettino’s number one striker next season, but with Radamel Falcao gone and speculation Robin van Persie could also be leaving, there is a vacancy to fill at Old Trafford.

Spurs travel to Manchester United on the opening weekend of the new season, a game the visitors are 4.50 to win. The home side are 5.50 to win the Premier League next season.
