Norwich City manager Alex Neil feels team spirit will be crucial to his side’s chances of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship.

The Canaries secured promotion back into the Premier League at the first attempt last season via the play-offs but Neil is well aware of the task in hand as he bids to keep them up in 2015-16.

The manager has added the likes of Andre Wisdom and Robbie Brady to his ranks ahead of the new campaign and he feels the duo have the right work ethic for his side.

He told the Pink ‘Un: “I don’t believe in prima donnas. They all have to work for the group, otherwise they won’t feature.

“As everyone knows, I am really keen on team spirit and making sure the group is all fighting for each other and really believes in each other and we pull in the one way.

“That was a helping factor in deciding to bring in Robbie (Brady) and Andre (Wisdom). Those two who came in are of the right stuff. They will add to what we have got.”

Norwich have also brought in former West Brom pair Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu ahead of the new campaign, although the latter will miss the first few weeks of the season with a foot injury.

The Canaries host Crystal Palace in the opening round of fixtures on Saturday and they are 2.60 to take all three points. Neil’s side are 2.75 to be the top promoted side and 2.10 to be relegated.
