No grudges for Sean Dyche

Burnley boss Sean Dyche insists he holds no grudges against former employers Watford ahead of their meeting on Monday.

The 45-year-old was one of the early casualties when the Pozzo family took over at Vicarage Road in 2012, setting off a string of managerial changes under the Italian owners.

Gianfranco Zola, Giuseppe Sannino, Oscar Garcia, Billy McKinlay, Slavisa Jokanovic and Quique Sanchez Flores have all been in the hot seat since his departure and it is Walter Mazzarri who currently occupies the role.

Despite their revolving door policy, Watford appear to be thriving under their owners and will head to Turf Moor on the back of two Premier League wins in a row.

Burnley, in contrast, have won just once this season but will be targeting games like the Hornets at home as key fixtures in their survival bid.

Dyche admits things have changed a great deal since he left Watford but insists he has no problem with the club and its owners.

He told reporters: “It’s well-documented I’ve always had respect for the club. The situation, the business changed etc etc but I mean every word when I say I had a fantastic time there as player, youth coach, assistant manager and manager.

“It’s a lot of water under the bridge and they’ve gone on to become a Premier League club so their model of working has worked for them.

Dyche added: “They’re a different animal yet again because they’ve changed their manager yet again. Their model is completely different to most in football but so far they’ve got a good start so it seems to be working for them.”

Burnley are 3.00 to win on Monday, with the draw 3.25 while Watford are the 2.50 favourites.
