Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has revealed manager Ronald Koeman has no limits on how much he can spend in the transfer market.

The Toffees are currently seventh in the Premier League standings after collecting 18 points from their opening 11 matches, although they have only won one of their last six top-flight games.

Former Southampton boss Koeman succeeded Roberto Martinez as manager at Goodison Park during the summer, and he signed four new players before the close of the transfer window, including bringing in Yannick Bolasie from Crystal Palace for a reported £25million.

The Dutchman has now been told that he can spend again when the transfer window reopens in January, with Moshiri confirming that there are no restrictions on the club’s budget.

“We have no restrictions to spend,” Moshiri told TalkSport. “The manager is totally committed and ruthless; if a player is not up to it he uses another player and eventually he buys one.

There are no sentimental issues there. “The manager will strengthen the team in the areas he feels necessary. Koeman is Koeman: he does what he wants and I support him.

Moshiri is convinced Everton have the right manager at the helm, and he believes Koeman can bring sustained success to the Merseyside club.

He added: “He has the personality, aura and ability and we trust him. In Everton’s culture the manger is the most important individual. He achieved eighth and seventh with Southampton.

He needs to improve on that but it is a very difficult landscape now.” Everton lost 5-0 at Chelsea in their last match, and they will be hoping to bounce back from that heavy defeat when they take on Swansea at Goodison Park after the international break.

The Toffees are available at 1.57 to win that match, while the Swans are priced at 5.50 and the draw is on offer at 4.00.
