Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic wants the club’s supporters to get behind the team in what is massive week for Roberto Martinez’s side.

The Toffees have endured a frustrating campaign and currently sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table with just five top-flight matches left to play.

The Merseyside club have made it into the semi-finals of the FA Cup, where they will take on Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday, while they will face city rivals Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Bosnia and Herzegovina international Besic believes the double header is a massive week in the club’s season and he has called for the team’s supporters to get behind the side, as they bid to rectify their troublesome campaign.

He said: “You can’t say the season is all bad, just maybe we didn’t win so many games but we are also in the semi-final. They should be behind us.

“That’s the fans, they are always right, that is not a problem for us, I just mean we have to be together, all the fans, the players, the staff to reach the final and maybe win the Cup.”

Everton could move into the top half of the table with a victory against Liverpool and Besic is confident of their chances given that they have performed much better away from Goodison Park over the majority of the season.

He added: “Away is a different game, we have to defend more and the opponent has more of the ball.”

Everton are available at 4.33 to secure the derby bragging rights on Wednesday, while Liverpool are on offer at 1.75 and the draw is priced at 3.75.
