Everton midfielder James McCarthy says everyone associated with the club is desperate to claim FA Cup glory this season.

The Toffees booked their place in the semi-finals of the competition with an impressive 2-0 victory against Chelsea last month, and they will now face either West Ham or Manchester United in the last four of the competition.

Those two teams will face off in a replay at the Boleyn Ground on April 13 after they drew 1-1 at Old Trafford in their original tie, but McCarthy knows Everton will face a tough test whichever team they end up taking on in the last four.

He said: “Obviously Man United or West Ham is going to be tough, and then the other semi-final.”

Roberto Martinez’s side have not won a major honour since they secured FA Cup glory in 1995, but Republic of Ireland international McCarthy says everyone connected with the club is desperate to end that trophy drought this season.

He added: “I think each and every one of us in the squad want to win something. It’s still a long way off, but we’re in the semi-finals and we’re looking forward to it. Hopefully we can win the cup. It’s in our hands now.”

The Toffees’ semi-final is due to take place at Wembley Stadium on April 23, with the final scheduled for the same venue on May 21.

Everton are available at 3.50 to seal FA Cup glory, while West Ham are on offer at 4.50 and Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Watford are all priced at 5.00.
