Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli believes that young striker Harry Kane has all the qualities needed to break into the England set-up if his performances continue.

Kane has battled his way into contention for a regular starting spot with Spurs over the early stages of the season.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has rotated his squad for league and cup games with Kane the preferred striker for Capital One Cup and Europa League action.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado have been trusted with leading the line in the Premier League but both have failed to provide enough threat.

Spurs, who are priced at 17.00 to win the Europa League, have stuttered in the league and sit seventh after 10 games, losing four times and coming in for a lot of criticism from supporters who have called for Kane to get his chance.

The England Under-21 international came off the bench against Aston Villa and netted the winner in an astonishing comeback on Sunday.

The 21-year-old has been touted as a potential candidate to step up to the England senior side when the next squad is announced on Thursday.

England face Slovenia on November 15 at Wembley in a European Championship qualifier before taking on Scotland in a friendly two days later.

Chadli feels that the academy product keeps improving with every game and certainly possess the right qualities to do it for Roy Hodgson.

Chadli said: “Why not?

“It’s up to him and the manager of the national team, but of course he has a lot of quality.”
