David Silva says Manchester City have nothing to lose against Barcelona but have what it takes to turn the European tie around at the Nou Camp.

City head into the Champions League clash trailing 2-1 from the first leg and have it all to do if they are to upset the form book and progress through to the quarter-finals.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men are hardly full of confidence going into the game after they slipped to a shock defeat against struggling Burnley in the Premier League at the weekend, a result that severely damaged their chances of catching Chelsea in the title race.

However, Silva says City cannot be written off and believes both Schalke and PSG proved that shock results can happen in Europe’s elite competition.

“Everybody wrote Schalke off before they played Real Madrid but they won 4-3 and could have scored again which would have put them through – nobody predicted that,” he said.

“Not many thought PSG could beat Chelsea, especially with only 10 men for so long, so I know that everything can happen, not only in the Champions League but in every game.

“Everyone is expecting Barca to go through but hopefully we can give a strong performance and we don’t have any kind of pressure on us because we are behind and playing away.”

City are 6.31 to pull off a win in the Nou Camp, with Barca the hot 1.40 favourites, while the draw is priced at 5.07.
