Chris Coleman is confident his Wales side can prove their success at Euro 2016 was not down to luck.
The Dragons were arguably the surprise pack of the tournament, reaching the semi-finals in France before going down to eventual winner Portugal.
Their team spirit and passion led to them earning plenty of praise but not from the manager of Thursday’s opponents Austria.
Marcel Koller has attributed their success to having fortune on their side rather than skill, after his own talented crop of stars failed to make it beyond the group stages.
Wales will have a chance to prove him wrong when they step out at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, with them 3.40 to win in Vienna, while the draw is 3.10 and Das Team 2.30.
An opening 4-0 win over Moldova has put the Welsh top of 2018 World Cup qualifying Group D, with them also due to face Georgia during the current batch of international fixtures.
They currently lead the betting to finish top of the pool at 2.88, while the Austrians are 3.00 and Serbia priced at 4.33.
Coleman admits he has been left frustrated by Koller’s comments in the build-up to the clash and has backed his players to prove their exploits in France were not a fluke. “I wouldn’t put our semi-final achievement down to luck,” he said, via The Guardian.
“You can get lucky over 90 minutes sometimes but you don’t achieve a semi-final by being lucky, that’s for sure.
“We had a little bit of luck here and there, we had bad luck. But the reason for our achievements is because we’re a good team.”
