Chelsea are the latest club to be linked with a move for former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song who looks likely to be on the move this summer.

The Barcelona man appears to have no future at the home of the European champions who are unlikely to keep him as he does not feature in their squad plans.

West Ham are still interested in getting him back to Upton Park after the 27-year spent last season on loan at the Hammers and was outstanding for the first six months of the season, as Sam Allardyce’s side chased an unlikely top-four finish.

Both he and the team in general struggled to maintain their form after Christmas but he did enough to suggest he has a long-term future back in the Premier League.

Song has two years left on his current Barcelona contract but is thought to be surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou and could be available for free.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked to Song who, because of his early years at Arsenal, is classed as a home-grown player by UEFA which makes him a more attractive target than he would have been as clubs look to adhere to new rules.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will be looking for an assault on the Champions League next term after they were dumped out by Paris Saint-Germain in last season’s competition.

Meanwhile, the Blues are 2.38 to retain their Premier League crown.
