Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has claimed that Tottenham can win the Premier League title after they beat his side 2-0 on Wednesday night.

The Blues went into the game on the back of a 13-game winning streak and they were hoping to make history at White Hart Lane, but midfielder Dele Alli spoiled their party.

Alli opened the scoring in the first half when he latched on to a Christian Eriksen cross before heading into the back of the net.

He then repeated the feat in the second half as Spurs moved up to third and to within seven points of Chelsea. Conte was quick to admit afterwards that their London rivals can go all the way this season.

He told Sky Sports: “It’s a pity to stop this run but Tottenham are a really strong team and one of the teams that can fight for the title until the end.

They fought last season and for sure can fight this year. “I saw a game with a good balance. Two good teams with good intensity and pressure that tried to win.

Tottenham scored in two strange moments at the end of the first half and then after we missed two chances to equalise.”

After seeing his side look fragile at the back, the Italian conceded they would be working hard in training ahead of their next Premier League clash against Leicester City.

“I didn’t see the situation but for sure I saw a good cross and a good header,” he added.

“Then we’ll see tomorrow or in two days the highlights of the game. When you concede two goals you have to improve.”

Chelsea are still the 1.73 favourites to win the title in May while Spurs have shortened to 15.00.
