Celtic have confirmed the capture of Turkish striker Nadir Ciftci from Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee United.

The Bhoys have been tracking the former Portsmouth forward for some time and they have now managed to complete a deal.

Ciftci grabbed 16 goals in all competitions for the Terrors last season and the Parkhead club have paid a reported £1.5million to secure his services.

The 23-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with Celtic and becomes the club’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Dedryck Boyata, Saidy Janko and Logan Bailly.

Meanwhile, midfielder Liam Henderson believes his loan stint at Norwegian side Rosenborg last season will help him battle for a regular place in the Celtic side in the coming campaign.

The 19-year-old spent three months with Rosenborg and is now ready to fight for a place in Ronny Deila’s starting line-up.

He told the club’s official website: “The manager decided to send me out to Norway and it was a really great three months for me. If you go out on loan, you can learn a lot in a short space of time and then you are raring to go when you come back.”

He added: “If the manager looks to rotate the team then I will be ready.

“It’s all about what you do in training and if you do that well, then he will give you the opportunity.

“It’s great for me and all the other young players that the manager looks at the young boys and throws them on in games which can only be good for the youth players.”

Celtic are 1.03 to win the Scottish Premiership next season, while Dundee United are 9.00 without Celtic.
