Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers believes it is unlikely his side can go the whole Scottish Premiership season unbeaten.

The Hoops have won seven and drawn one of their opening eight league matches this campaign, with their only competitive defeats this term coming in the Champions League.

Rodgers’ men have already opened up a four point gap at the top of the league standings, while they also have games in hand on all their title rivals.

The Glasgow giant’s last league defeat was a 2-1 loss at St Johnstone in May, when former boss Ronny Deila was still in charge, but despite their near perfect start to the campaign, Rodgers believes it is highly unlikely his side can go the whole league season unbeaten. He said: “I don’t think you can do it.

I think it will be tough, it’s a tough ask.” Celtic are next in action when they travel to Dingwall to take on Ross County on Wednesday and Rodgers insists he is only focused on that game, rather than thinking of potential unbeaten sequences.

He continued: “We only concentrate on the next game. There are just so many variables in football to forecast and look beyond, people can talk about the season and all that sort of stuff but you can really only hope that everything is right for your next game and that is my only concern.”

The Bhoys are available at 1.25 to return from the Highlands with all three points, while Ross County are priced at 11.00 and the draw is on offer at 6.50.
