AFC Bournemouth’s search for a new manager begins after the Cherries parted ways with manager Gary O’Neill. A return of 10 wins and 6 draws maintained the club’s Premier League status, but it couldn’t help maintain O’Neil’s job.
Bournemouth revealed the decision to part ways with head coach Gary O’Neil in a statement where the club owner Bill Foley thanked O’Neil after making the tough decision.

“We’d like to place on record our thanks to Gary and wish him all the best for the future. This has been a difficult decision; It has been made with great consideration to best position ourselves ahead of the coming season. Gary will go on to have a long career as a head coach or manager, but we feel that, at this moment in time, a change is in the best interests of this football club.” Bill Foley said.

Meanwhile, Andoni Iraola has been announced as the new Cherries head coach just hours after sacking Gary O’Neil. The former Rayo Vallecano manager has been appointed as the club’s new head coach on a two-year deal. Maximizing the summer break will be the important thing after securing a replacement for O’Neil, who oversaw 37 games in all competitions securing 11 wins, 20 losses, and 6 draws.

Jefferson Lerma will be leaving for Crystal Palace, while Marcos Tavernier will sign a contract extension as the new Premier League season approaches; Bournemouth will face West Ham at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, August 12.
