Jurgen Klopp believes his Borussia Dortmund side are heading in the right direction after keeping a fourth successive clean sheet.

Dortmund were held to a home 0-0 draw by Koln on Saturday, their second goalless draw in a row after a stalemate at Hamburger SV last weekend.

BVB beat Dynamo Dresden and Schalke prior to the two draws and Klopp insists recent defensive efforts have given his side have something to work with.

“No, you can’t look at this result in a bad light,” he told the club’s website. “I didn’t like the 0-0 in Hamburg as much as this one against Koln.

“We did not concede again, we can build on that. We have to continue to work hard to achieve things.

“We will do that and then at some stage have the necessary points on the board.”

Dortmund were threatened with relegation earlier in the season after a dismal start to the campaign but recent improvements have left them 10th in the table, eight points outside the top six.

Their disappointing season has been given some reprieve by a series of impressive performances in Europe and they could still reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

Dortmund trail Juventus 2-1 from the first leg of their last-16 tie in Turin and host the Serie A leaders at Signal-Iduna Park on Wednesday.

BVB are priced at 2.25 to beat the Old Lady, while a draw is 3.00 and Juve are 3.10.
