Burnley defender Ben Mee is confident his side will bounce back from last weekend’s 3-0 defeat at Leicester.

After a steady start, the Clarets, who are the 1.73 favourites to be relegated, were outplayed by the Foxes after conceding on the stroke of half time.

It was an especially tough afternoon for Mee, who suffered the further embarrassment of putting through his own net.

However, the unforgiving nature of the Premier League means teams cannot dwell on poor results and Sean Dyche’s men will be looking to bounce back when they host Watford on Monday.

The Hornets are in good form following wins over West Ham and Manchester United but Turf Moor needs to become a fortress if Burnley are to stay up this term.

Having already beaten Liverpool at home this term, the Clarets are 2.88, with the draw 3.20 and Watford priced at 2.63.

The 27-year-old has promised his side’s fans that they have put their poor result at the King Power behind them and are looking ahead to Monday.

“We’ll get over this quickly and then we’ll head into the next one and we won’t look back, we’re quite a strong unit,” he is quoted as saying by the Lancashire Telegraph.

“It was disappointing (at Leicester). We were in the game first half, then the game changes in five minutes, it’s disappointing to lose a game like that and we never got back into it after the second goal went in.

“We thought we did alright, we had a couple of chances as did they. We were in the game and we did ok. It was a sloppy goal at the end of the first half and a disappointing way to concede.”
