Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is convinced his side are capable of winning the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners are currently second in the standings, five points behind surprise leaders Leicester, but they have only lost one of their last 10 top-flight matches.
The north London club have not been crowned champions of England since their ‘invincible’ team of 2004, but Wales international Ramsey is optimistic his side can end that losing sequence this season.
He said: “We are taking every game as it comes and we are optimistic. We believe we have a great opportunity to win trophies and hopefully we can see that through.”
Arsene Wenger’s team will have their title credentials tested in their next match when they take on Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday.
The Citizens are just a point behind Arsenal in the table and Ramsey knows his team will have to be on the top of their game if they are to emerge from the heavyweight tussle with all three points.
He added: “We are playing a great team in Manchester City, who are also up there [at the top of the table]. They have so many great players with the ability to create something from nothing so we will have to be aware of that.”
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last four matches against City in all competitions and they are best priced at 2.38 to collect all three points on Monday, whilst Manuel Pellegrini’s side are on offer at 3.00 and the draw is available at 3.40.
