Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alexis Sanchez is struggling with a minor hamstring injury although he should be fit to face Norwich on Sunday.

The Chilean was instrumental in helping the Gunners seal a 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday, as he scored two goals and assisted Mesut Ozil for the other strike at the Emirates Stadium.

The 26-year-old has scored nine goals in all competitions for the north London club this season, but Wenger confirmed that he is a slight doubt for the clash with the Canaries.

He said: “Alexis had a little hamstring alarm. I will assess that later.”

The Frenchman admitted is reluctant to rest the former Barcelona player, despite the Gunners facing testing matches over the coming weeks against Olympiakos in the Champions League and Sunderland, Aston Villa and Manchester City in the Premier League.

One man who is closing in on a first-team return is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has been out of action since sustaining a hamstring injury during last month’s Capital One Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Wenger added: “Maybe Oxlade-Chamberlain could be back in the squad [for Sunday].”

Arsenal are the 1.57 favourites to secure a victory at Carrow Road, Alex Neil’s team are available at 5.25 and the draw is 4.20.
