The former Italy coach, Arrigo Sacchi, believes compatriot Carlo Ancelotti will be a huge success when he takes over the reins at Bayern Munich in the summer.

The Italian will replace Pep Guardiola at Allianz-Arena after the Spaniard confirmed he will leave the German champions at the end of the current campaign.

Ancelotti has a wealth of experience having won major honours during his time managing in Italy, England, France and Spain and his former coach at AC Milan, Sacchi, is convinced he can continue his success in Germany.

He said: “[It is] a great satisfaction and an honour to the brilliant coach, who, after winning in Italy, England, France and Spain will try to repeat it in Germany.”

The 69-year-old believes his compatriot is one of the most sought-after coaches in the world, alongside Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, and he believes Bayern have made the right decision by appointing the Italian.

He added: “Ancelotti is one of three of the most famous, and perhaps most talented, coaches of the last decade: Guardiola, Mourinho and Carlo. These are the most in demand by large clubs, and when one of them moves the world market for coaches boils over.”

Ancelotti will take over a team that has won the Bundesliga title in each of the last three seasons and they are available at 1.02 to achieve overall glory again this year, as they currently hold an eight-point advantage over nearest rivals Borussia Dortmund.
