France’s Antoine Griezmann believes Paul Pogba’s exploits with the national team will give him the confidence he has been lacking in England.

The 23-year-old recently rejoined Manchester United for a world-record fee but is yet to truly shine for the Red Devils, who are still gelling under Jose Mourinho and are currently 15.00 to win the Premier League title.

However, Pogba has excelled during the international break with Les Bleus, playing a starring role in the 4-1 win over Bulgaria before netting the winner on Monday against the Netherlands.

Pogba will now be hoping to transfer his form back to the domestic scene when he steps out in Monday’s showdown against Liverpool.

The Red Devils are 3.60 to win at Anfield, the draw is 3.50 and Jurgen Klopp’s in-form side are 2.10.

With such an astronomical price tag, the midfielder’s form has understandably led to plenty of questions as to whether he will be able to justify his status as the world’s most expensive player.

Griezmann has now come out in support of his international colleague following his match-winning performance in Amsterdam.

The Atletico Madrid striker believes his team-mate will benefit from his performances for France and has called on the press to alleviate some of the pressure on the former Juventus man.

“I’m happy for him,” Griezmann told TF1 after the match. “He played the same as against Bulgaria except here it had a purpose.

Tomorrow he will make all the newspapers. This will do him good. “I hope he will have the support of journalists.”
