Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti hailed Cristiano Ronaldo as “out of this world” following the Portuguese star’s 23rd hat-trick for the Spanish capital club.

Madrid beat Real Sociedad 5-1 in La Liga on Saturday night, with Ronaldo scoring in the 12th, 26th and 76th minutes to notch up his fourth hat-trick of the 2013-14 campaign.

The result saw Los Merengues move to within three points of Barcelona at the summit of the Spanish top flight, with Ronaldo in scintillating form, having scored eight of his side’s 15 goals in their last three league games.

Speaking after the match, Ancelotti could not hide his praise for the former Manchester United star.

He said: “He scores so regularly and with such incredible ease. It’s hard to find new words to describe him.

“Cristiano’s talent puts him in a different category altogether.”

Ronaldo has now scored 27 goals in 19 appearances for club and country this season.

After the game, he opted to talk about the match rather than his own personal achievements, highlighting Gareth Bale as one of his side’s top performers.

He said: “It was a great match and we’re all celebrating. I’m satisfied because things are working well. The team is finding its stride.

“[Bale’s] playing very well and I’m happy out on the pitch with him, with Karim [Benzema] and with [Angel] Di Maria.”
