West Brom defender Allan Nyom has talked up the importance of Salomon Rondon and feels the club can kick on his term with him leading the attack.

The Cameroon international joined the Baggies this summer from Watford, who are priced at 7.00 to be relegated, and has been impressed with Rondon’s early season exploits.

Rondon was the leading scorer for West Brom during his debut campaign and appears to have hit the ground running this term.

The 27-year-old has scored twice in his last two outings and boasts a tally of three from the first six Premier League games.

The Venezuelan’s latest strike helped the Hawthorns outfit to salvage a point when he fired in the equaliser against Stoke in the 91st minute at the Home Stadium.

The defender believes his new team mate has the qualities to improve on his tally of nine league goals from 2015-16 and hopes he can help the club to move to the next level.

“Salomon is important to us because he is a very good striker.” Nyom said. “He has scored a lot of goals for this club and he got the equaliser at Stoke.

“He has a lot of confidence at the moment so that is good for us.” Nyom, who spent just one season with Watford before moving to the Midlands, insists he has been welcomed in quickly and feels happy in his new surroundings.

He added: “I talk a lot to everyone in squad. “I talk a little bit more with Nacer Chadli, Claudio Yacob and Salomon because I can speak French and Spanish. “The group is very good and I enjoy being here.”
