Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says Alexis Sanchez is the player that can help the Gunners end their long wait for a Premier League title next season.

Arsene Wenger’s team have not tasted title glory since 2004 but Henry saw enough in the Chilean’s first season at the Emirates to make him believe he has the star quality needed to wrestle the title away from Chelsea.

“If you’re an Arsenal fan, we were all waiting for that type of match winner,” Henry told Arsenal Player.

“We want to see that more and more and I know that he has that in his locker. When you have a guy like Alexis Sanchez, it is the X-factor.

He is the guy who can change the course of a game.”

Arsenal finished the season strongly but they were unable to bridge the gap Chelsea had opened up at the top of the table.

Wenger’s team eventually finished third and, according to Henry, having Sanchez on his books should help his fellow Frenchman attract more top players to North London this summer.

“As an Arsenal fan I am very excited about next season and hopefully we can bring some people to the club, some new players maybe but when you have a guy like Alexis Sanchez anything can happen. Hopefully he can fire us to the title next year,” Henry added.

Arsenal are priced at 5.50 to win the Premier League title next season and provide Wenger with his fourth English top flight success.
