AC Milan have continued their impressive form in the Serie A by defeating AS Roma 3-1 on Sunday night at the San Siro.

Stefano Pioli’s men couldn’t initially get hold of the game as the visitors started brightly with the exchange of passes and a large percentage of the possession.

Milan could have been said to have enjoyed the French flair, with goals coming through Yacine Adli, Olivier Giroud, and Theo Hernandez. The win takes Diavolo to eight points clear in third place in the Serie A standing.
Both sides went into the clash after their exit from Coppa Italia amid reports over the future of the coaches.

Although Roma started brightly with a good spell of possession, Olivier Giroud had the first shot on target after 38 seconds. Milan then took the lead with a splendid solo effort from Adli. The midfielder gathered on the edge of the box and sold Rasmus Kristensen a dummy by pretending to shoot with his right foot, He instead cut back inside and drilled into the bottom corner with his left to score his first goal in the Rossoneri jersey.
Christian Pulisic was stopped from making it two with a save Svilar from a rapid counter-attack.

after Theo Hernandez clipped the woodwork with his cross-shot from the by-line, Mike Maignan was called into action as he fingertipped a deflected Zeki Celik strike inches wide after good work from Bryan Cristante.

Milan eventually doubled their lead in the second half. From a quick corner, Simon Kjaer knocked down an Adli cross to the back post for Giroud to nod in from point-blank range.

Roma later found a lifeline when they earned a penalty. Romelu Lukaku laid the ball for substitute Lorenzo Pellegrini, who was caught by Calabria. Leandro Paredes made no mistake as he smashed in from the spot.

Roma, in search of an equaliser, saw Pellegrini’s free-kick deflected off target by Giroud and another strike smothered by Maignan
.
Milan would, through their great play, restore their two-goal advantage.
With a well-worked goal, Theo Hernandez surged forward, completed the give-and-go with a magnificent Giroud back-heel flick, and then cannoned the rocket of a finish off the underside of the crossbar.

Milan almost made it through Yunus Musah as his shot hit the bar at the end of a slalom through defenders.
