Promoter Eddie Hearn has accused “idiot” Deontay Wilder of “wasting my time” over a potential fight with his fighter, Anthony Joshua.

There has been a clamour for Joshua and Wilder to meet in what would be a unification world heavyweight title fight but terms have never been agreed and Wilder has now signed to face former champion Tyson Fury in December.

The American, who holds the WBC belt, says he is still looking to meet WBA, IBF and WBO champion Joshua after that fight but feels that if he beats Fury he will be entitled to 60 per cent of the purse.

Hearn says that is unrealistic and believes such demands show he doesn’t actually want the fight.

“How stupid have you got to be to think that Deontay Wilder wants this fight? Just listen to what he’s saying,” Hearn told iFL TV.

“You could walk up any high street any town in the world and ask anyone who Deontay Wilder is, nobody has a clue.

“He isn’t going to do 300 buys on pay-per-view on Showtime and he wants 60-40, idiot.

“Maybe he’s just saying it, I don’t know, but if that’s what he really thinks, please don’t waste my time.”

Wilder is currently 1.61 with Dafabet to beat Fury in Las Vegas on December 1. Fury, who was the undisputed champion until being forced to relinquish them due to inactivity, can be backed at 2.30 and the draw is 29.00.
