What truly sets the NBA playoffs apart from other sports competitions is the trash-talking between players.

Trash-talking has been a part of basketball since its inception, and it has become more prevalent in recent years. Whether it’s LeBron James taunting his opponents after a big shot or Stephen Curry flashing his signature “shimmy” after hitting a three-pointer, trash talking adds an extra layer of excitement to every game.

In these playoffs, The Grizzlies are facing the Lakers, and there have been several trash-talking exchanges between Brooks and LeBron James.

The Lakers star allegedly told Brooks that he was “dumb” when he was called for his fourth foul in the third quarter.

About the incident, Brooks commented, “he is getting older (referring to James).

“I should have said it earlier. But I don’t care about him. I don’t respect anyone until he comes and scores 40 on me.”

Brooks did not hesitate to acknowledge that LeBron is a legend but assured that when he faces him, he only sees him as “another basketball player.” And besides, he considers that he is in decline.

Months ago, other players stated that James does not inspire fear or respect like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant did.

Brooks believes that LeBron decided to use trash language during the game because he was nervous. “I said, ‘Oh, you finally want to talk.’ So we got into a conversation. I just said, ‘You can’t take me one on one. You haven’t.’ Watch the video. He hasn’t really taken me one on one. until now.”
