Cleveland Cavaliers small forward LeBron James has revealed he is in play-off ‘mode’ as he aims to help the team secure the NBA Championship this season.

The Cavs claimed their second consecutive divisional title during the regular season and also finished top of the Eastern Conference standings, claiming 57 wins from their 82 matches.

The Ohio-based franchise will now face the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the play-offs, with the first match of the seven-game series taking place at the Quicken Loans Arena on Sunday.

James, who finished the regular season with a flourish, is fully focused and hopes to help the Cavs claim their first NBA Championship title.

He said: “I’m in that mode right now. I’m where I want to be.”

The 31-year-old is looking to secure his third championship success after winning back-to-back titles with Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, while he will also be looking to avenge the Cavs’ defeat to the Golden State Warriors in the finals 12 months ago.

Cleveland lost three of four meetings with the Pistons during the regular season including a 112-110 defeat at the Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday.

The Cavaliers are available at 1.13 to begin their play-off campaign with a victory on Sunday and Detroit are on offer at 5.50.
