Borussia Dortmund star Robert Lewandowski is adamant he is fully committed to playing for club despite his hotly-tipped move to rivals Bayern Munich falling through.

The Polish striker was expected to make the switch to the Bavarian club, who managed to ease their way to the Bundesliga title before winning a long-awaited Champions League trophy with victory over Dortmund in the final at Wembley.

Lewandowski made no real secret of his desire to make the move to the Allianz Arena but with a year still remaining on his current deal at the Westfalenstadion, the club have decided to hold the player to his contract.

Now that he is set for another 12 months at least with Dortmund, Lewandowski, who was also linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester United, is willing to give everything for manager Jurgen Klopp and his team.

He told Bild after beating Bayern to claim the German Super Cup: “I hope this is not the last title.

“I will give everything I’ve got for Dortmund. It does not matter what happened. I am not interested about that on the pitch.

“When I am out on the pitch, then Dortmund is all I think about. I want to give it all I’ve got and be successful.”

Dortmund start their Bundesliga campaign on August 10 when they make the trip to the Impuls Arena to face FC Augsburg.
