Ball has been placed in temporary charge following the departure of Di Canio on Sunday and guided the Black Cats through to the fourth round of the Capital One Cup with a victory over Peterborough last night. Speaking after the game Ball revealed he would like the job on a permanent basis and believes he has all the right credentials to take the club forward should owner Ellis Short decide he is the man. “Anybody who is anybody would like to be considered for it,” Ball revealed after the 2-0 win at the Stadium of Light. “In the sense of what I have done as a coach or a player and not only that, my qualifications I have gone out and got as a coach, I would like to be considered. “But ultimately, that’s the club’s decision and I would go with that, whether it was me or someone else, they would have my full support.” Short is currently weighing up all of his options but must have been impressed with the way Ball picked the players
