Tim Krul is looking forward to facing former club Newcastle on Saturday and the goalkeeper is targeting all three points with Norwich.

The Dutchman spent 11 years at St James’ Park before joining the Canaries and he says he still has a “great connection” with Newcastle. Krul has no divided loyalties, however, and he is eager to help Norwich secure a win at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Norwich went down 4-1 at Liverpool in the opening round of fixtures but Krul felt there were positives to take from the performance, while Newcastle were beaten 1-0 at home by Arsenal. “It is great to be back in the Premier League and to be there with Norwich,” he told the Eastern Daily Press.

“The people in Norwich will be excited, perhaps by the manner we finished the game at Anfield and rightly so, but they have some threats up front for sure. “I recorded the Newcastle versus Arsenal game and Newcastle is a good team. “They have some new players who look lively and we have to be on top of our game.

The way we played the second half at Anfield has to be the minimum. “The fans will be right up for this. They have been waiting for three or four months to have this first home league game.

“It will be electric and we are looking to get the first three points.” Norwich are 2.25 to win on Saturday and the Canaries are 2.80 to keep a clean sheet.
